Michael Arata, MD
Medical Director
Dr. Arata is a graduate of UCSF Medical
School. He completed residency at Duke
University Medical Center and
sub-specialty fellowship at the Hospital of
the University of Pennsylvania.
Former Director of Endovascular
Therapy at Hoag Hospital performing the
first endovenous ablation there in 2001.
Dr. Arata subsequently has developed
an office based practice with locations in
Los Angles and Orange County.
Dr. Arata is respected for his expertise in
the treatment of vein disorders lecturing
across the country including Vascular
Grand Rounds at the Mayo Clinic. He is
a member of the American College of
Phlebology and was selected for
membership in the American Venous
Forum in 2006. He is certified by the
American Board of Phlebology.
Joseph Hewett, MD
Dr. Hewett is a graduate of the University
of Californa San Francisco School of
Medicine. He completed his residency at
Duke University Medical Center and his
sub-specialty fellowship training at the
University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill
School of Medicine. Dr. Hewett
established the first specialty practice for
the treatment of venous disorders in
Western Maryland. He as lectured on
the treatment of varicose veins, spider
veins, deep venous thrombosis and
congenital venous disorders. Dr. Hewett
is a past proctor for training in EVLT. He
brings his extensive experience in
treating cosmetic and debilitating venous
disorders to South Coast Vein Care.
Todd S. Harris, MD
Dr. Todd S. Harris is board certified in
General Surgery as well as highly trained
in Interventional Medicine. Dr. Harris is a
graduate of the Medical University of
South Carolina and completed his
general surgery residency at St.
Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center in
New York City. After completing his
surgical residency, Dr. Harris was in
private practice for 2 years then returned
for a Cardio Vascular and Interventional
Radiology (CVIR) fellowship at the
University of Minnesota for one year.
During that year, Dr. Harris performed
over 1000 image guided cases. He also
continued working as a general and
trauma surgeon in Minneapolis during
his fellowship and upon completion
moved to Orange County to join South
Coast Vein Care.
